How we met
We met through our place of work in September 2011. Coral took the plunge and sent Ashley an email with her number asking if he wanted to go out for a drink sometime and Ashley accepted via text and a date was arranged a few days later.
Our first date was dinner and drinks in Hastings Old town and the evening went so well that we decided to meet up again. It went from there really, we used to meet up at work in secret on our lunch breaks and in the evening and weekends too.
Once we were well established and our work colleagues were in the know Ashley used to leave little presents on Corals desk most mornings, which use to range from packets of nuts to an apple. We moved into our flat on Eastbourne seafront in March 2013 having both decided to take new jobs Coral in Eastbourne and Ashley in Brighton.
Six years on
We are now living in our second Flat in Eastbourne which is much nicer than the first one that we had.
We are usually very busy during the week preparing for work and so the weekends are the best time for us to visit family, see friends and spend quality time together. We really enjoy living in Eastbourne especially when it comes alive from April to September and so we try to make the most of it by going for walks along the seafront or in the woods, stopping for a nice meal somewhere. We also take this time to plan weekends away to see family or places that we want to go to together.
With an upcoming wedding we will still ensure that we enjoy our weekends but we will also be squeezing something wedding related like a wedding fayre in there somewhere.
After 6 years together you would have thought that Ashley would have been thinking about asking the big question. When questioned by family and friends or the topic came up in conversation between us Ashley would be very non committal of his intentions to ask the big question. Having known Ashley for 6 years and having lived with him for 4 of those I know that Ashley does not succumb to pressure and so I just let it rest with the hope that he would ask that question one day but in his own time.
I did not think that time would be on the top of a mountain in Tromso on the 7th February 2017.
